Private Care at Home

What is Private Caregiving?

Not every need for help at home begins with a hospital stay. Sometimes it starts quietly: a parent who isn’t eating the way they used to, a spouse who needs a steady hand getting out of the shower, or a family caregiver who is running on empty. Families often want to keep their loved one at home but can’t be there around the clock.
Bridges’ private caregiving services give families trusted, compassionate support in the home, on their schedule. Our caregivers help with the everyday tasks that make independent living possible, so your loved one can stay safe, comfortable, and connected to the life and routines they know. What family wouldn’t choose the comfort and familiarity of home, or wherever their loved one calls home, over moving to a facility before it’s truly needed?

Private caregiving is flexible by design. Care can be a few hours a week, daily visits, overnight support, or around-the-clock coverage, and it can change as needs change. It can continue after home health services end, fill the gaps between skilled visits, or give family members the rest they need to keep caring for the people they love.
Private caregiving may include help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility; preparing meals; light housekeeping and laundry; medication reminders; transportation to appointments and errands; and, just as importantly, companionship. Because services are paid privately, families have direct say in when care happens, how often, and what it focuses on.

Private Caregiving Services

01. Personal Care
Respectful help with bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing. We follow your loved one’s preferences and routines so they feel clean, comfortable, and like themselves every day.
02. Mobility and Fall Prevention
A steady hand with walking, transfers, and getting in and out of bed, including help with walkers and wheelchairs. Our caregivers also watch for everyday hazards that can lead to falls.
03. Meal Planning and Preparation
Fresh, home-cooked meals that reflect your loved one’s tastes and any diet their physician has recommended. Caregivers can also help with grocery lists, hydration, and assistance with eating.
04. Medication Reminders
Timely reminders so medications are taken as scheduled. Caregivers can also let family know when refills are running low or a dose was missed.
05. Light Housekeeping and Laundry
Tidying, dishes, vacuuming, changing linens, and laundry, so your loved one can enjoy a clean, safe home without the strain of keeping up with chores.
06. Companionship
Conversation, games, music, hobbies, and walks that ease loneliness and support emotional well-being. We match caregivers thoughtfully so the relationship feels natural and warm.
07. Transportation and Errands
Rides to doctor’s appointments, pharmacy pickups, grocery shopping, and social outings. We help your loved one stay connected to their community, safely and comfortably.
08. Respite Care for Family Caregivers
Reliable relief for family caregivers, whether for a few hours, a regular day off, or while you travel. Step away with peace of mind knowing your loved one is in good hands.
09. Memory Care Support
Calm, consistent support for those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Our caregivers use routine, gentle redirection, and reassurance to ease confusion and keep your loved one safe.
10. Overnight and 24-Hour Care Options Available
Overnight help with bathroom trips, repositioning, and comfort, or around-the-clock coverage for those who shouldn’t be alone. Families can rest knowing someone is always there.
